Quantonation is the first early-stage VC fund dedicated to deep physics and quantum technologies. Field such as high-performance computation, secure communications, drug design or ultra-precise sensing are now driven by innovation based on these disruptive technologies. Quantonation aims at supporting their transition into commercially available products. Quantonation is headquartered in Paris, France, and in Boston, USA, with investments in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.

OUR PROMISE

1. What do we do ?

We invest in four areas: Quantum Computing (Hardware and Software), Quantum Networks, Quantum Sensing and Deep Physics. We invest at an early stage (Pre-seed, Seed, Series A, Series B) with the ability to co-create some companies when we have the conviction that the technology must spin out from the lab. One crucial part of our strategy is also to develop synergies within our portfolio thanks to the strong links between our targeted sectors.

Quantonation’s team count on complementary skills in Science, Entrepreneurship and Business Development giving us the opportunity to address a growing and complex field and guide our startups through it.

We have structured a solid ecosystem in Quantum Technologies through partnerships with Academic Labs, Incubators (Christophe Jurczak is an Associate at the Creative Destruction Lab in Toronto, We have also partnered with Quantum Catalyzer, an incubator based out of the University of Maryland and fostering the US East-Coast Quantum Ecosystem), and other VCs.
Quantonation also founded Le Lab Quantique and QuantX in order to promote Quantum Technologies.

OUR ECOSYSTEM

Quantonation is founding member of Le Lab Quantique, a Quantum Tech Innovation center based in Paris, a structure providing training and support to aspiring entrepreneurs and startups, but also a think tank and influencer.

Quantonation takes part in a reflection started by University Paris Saclay with key academic and industry players, in order to foster collaborations and prepare students for the upcoming Quantum Revolution.

Quantonation is part of the Quantum Flagship, a European €1B program to support Quantum Technologies development.

Quantonation supports Unitary Fund, a non-profit helping create a quantum technology ecosystem that benefits the most people. They develop open source quantum tech, run a microgrant program, and host a developer community.

Quantonation serves on the advisory board of the X-PRIZE Quantum Applications, sponsored by Google and GESDA. It is a 3-year, $5M global competition designed to generate quantum computing (QC) algorithms that can be put into practice to help solve real-world challenges.

Quantonation is a member and serves on the advisory board of the Quantum Industry Consortium, a not-for-profit association established by several major business actors – large enterprises, SMEs, investors, and startups – from across Europe to operate as a collaborative hub throughout Europe to build a strong, vibrant ecosystem for Quantum Technologies in Europe.

Quantonation Ventures is cofounder of several quantum startups studios around the world.

The aim of those studios is to serve a link between academia (where quantum startups originate) and startup creation.

The studio will take a project or concept to transform it into a startup through a two to three years support process.

The target is to give rise to five quantum startups per year and per studio. Those startups will be prime investing opportunities for Quantonation.

Two studios have been announced so far in Québec and Italy: QV studio and Quantum Italia. Three other studios should follow in the coming months.
